President of the All-Russian Swimming Federation Vladimir Salnikov believes that Vladivostok needs a modern 50-meter swimming pool.
Previously, Vladimir Putin instructed the Government of the Russian Federation, together with the Government of the Primorsky Territory, to ensure the creation on Russky Island and in the city of Vladivostok of centers of martial arts, artistic gymnastics and rhythmic, hockey, swimming, boxing, a tennis academy and an athletics arena as part of a federal sports and training center for the preparation of sports teams of Russian teams, providing for phased financing of ‘relevant activities at the federal and regional levels from 2025, as well as attracting extra-budgetary sources for these purposes.
— Vladivostok does not have a normal, modern 50-meter swimming pool. And if the facility is built under this order, it will fill the acute deficit that currently exists. Today in Vladivostok there is a swimming pool built a long time ago. It works, but for such a big city, of course, it’s not enough. We need facilities capable of hosting high-level competitions and supporting the entire training process. Interaction with the local sports management is underway, we hope that a modern sports facility will appear in Vladivostok,” Salnikov told .
