Yagudin will perform at the opening of the Chelyabinsk Figure Skating Championships

Director General of the Russian Figure Skating Federation (FFKKR) Alexander Kogan reported that the Olympic champion Alexei Yagudin will perform at the opening of the Russian Championship in Chelyabinsk.

Later, on December 20, the official draw ceremony for the Russian Figure Skating Championship will take place.

“Alexei Yagudin will speak at the opening,” reports correspondent, according to Kogan’s words.

Acting head of the FFKKR Anton Sikharulidze explained why some figure skaters will not be able to participate in the national championship.

— An athlete does not only appear at the Russian championship. To become a participant according to the rules, you must qualify through the Grand Prix stages. Shcherbakova and Trusova did not participate in the Grand Prix, regardless of their form they could not participate in the Czech Republic. This is the most important detail,” he added.

The Russian Figure Skating Championships will take place in Chelyabinsk from December 20 to 24.
