The perfect end to the year for a treble winner
Manchester city beat the Brazilian with a big score Fluminense in the final Club World Cup 2023 – 4:0.
Pep Guardiola’s team took the lead in the 40th second – Julian Alvarez finished off Nathan Ake’s long-range shot into the empty net, which bounced off the post. In the 27th minute, the favorite doubled the score – Phil Foden’s cross into his own goal was turned in by defender Nino.
After the break, the same Foden and Alvarez were spectacular. First, the Englishman responded to the Argentine’s cross, and in the end Julian scored a double while Flu’s defense was completely helpless.
In 2023, Manchester City won almost all the main competitions in which it took part – the English Championship, the Champions League, the FA Cup and the World Cup. Only the 2022/23 League Cup and the Super Cup, in which the City lost to Arsenal on penalties, were not successful for Guardiola’s team.
