The reason was the conflict between the head coach of the national team Ilya Kvasha and the athletes
Members Ukrainian national diving team addressed an open letter to the Minister of Youth and Sports Vadim Gutsait.
The reason was the conflict between the head coach of the national team Ilya Kvasha and the athletes.
“Blackmail, threats and humiliation have become the norm in dealing with those members of the national team who are at least a little dependent on the current situation with the selection, the location chosen for training and other issues that require the implementation of agreements to resolve them. It is not only the results that suffer from such “innovations”, but each of us,” the letter says.
Athletes are also outraged by the devaluation of the role of a personal trainer. All this and much more separates the team, sows panic and brings tension and stress to the usual training process.
Members of the Ukrainian diving team ask to draw the attention of the Minister to the difficult state of affairs and offer a number of solutions that will help improve the situation for continuing training and preparing for important competitions, including the Olympic Games.
The letter was signed by the 2022 World Cup winners Aleksey Sereda and Sofia Lyskun, European champion Anna Pismenskaya, as well as Oleg Kolodiy, Stanislav Oliferchik, Daniil Konovalov, Evgeny Naumenko, Bogdan Chizhovsky, Kirill Bolyukh, Ksenia Baylo, Daniil Avanesov and Victoria Kesar.
