Figure skater Frolova: “The illness had a big impact on my physical fitness, but I tried not to lose my morale”

Figure skater Anna Frolova At the end of the Russian Championship, she told that she would have time to recover, and while she was ill, she tried not to burden herself with unnecessary thoughts.

At the Russian Championships in Chelyabinsk, Frolova took fifth place based on the results of two programs, scoring 219.47 points.

— In general, I am satisfied with my performance. There is a lot more to work on, on the jump and on all elements in general. I’m glad I faced circumstances that weren’t entirely in my favor. It happened like that. It’s good to have done my job well.

I’m probably happier with the short program because, in my opinion, it was more moving. I got more involved in it, there was more emotion and strength than today. I will try to have the same emotional performance in the free program as in the short program.

– How do you feel now? Has the illness had a significant impact on your performance?

— It’s probably not that important anymore, because all that’s left to do is skate on the exhibition ones. Then I will have time to heal and recover. I think that without physical activity and training, it will go much faster. The illness had a significant impact on my physical fitness, but I tried not to lose my morale. I just tried not to load my head with unnecessary thoughts.

— Are there plans to complicate the programs for the next competitions?

— I would like to make the programs more complicated, but I think the final say and decision will be up to the coaching staff. You should always do it gradually and evaluate your physical preparation wisely. Understand that I will certainly have time to deploy this or that complicated content. But I wish it were more complicated.

— The complication is the ultra-si elements?

— As for the ultra-si elements, it seems to me that it is too early to comment. Because to be included in the program you must do them regularly during training. I would like to try a quadruple lutz or a toe loop if the coaching staff allows me. I think we will start training them on one of these jumps, and then the viewers themselves will see everything, ”Frolova told .
