Olympic figure skating champion Roman Kostomarov took part in the opening of the “Walk of Fame” exhibition at VDNKh.
The event, organized by the Russian Society “Knowledge”, takes place on Sunday.
In addition to Kostomarov, figure skater Alexei Yagudin, speed skater Ruslan Zakharov, freestyler Maxim Burov, snowboarder Vic Wild, biathletes Maxim Chudov, Anna Bogaliy and Svetlana Ishmuratova, as well as skiers Elena Vyalbe and Nikita Kryukov presented their prizes at the exhibition.
In early 2023, Kostomarov was hospitalized due to complications from pneumonia. The 46-year-old athlete began suffering from tissue necrosis and underwent several limb amputations. Kostomarov then underwent prosthetic surgery, and in December he returned to the ice on skates for the first time.
