Athletistic / Figure skating. One of the best singles skaters in Russia, Vladislav Dikidzhi, shared his opinion on the world level of figure skating. He notably mentioned the programs of American figure skater Ilya Malinin.
“In general, now I no longer follow men’s skating at the world level. I have already done a lot of figure skating in my life. But I watched the recent performance of Ilya Malinin. I am surprised how a person can get back on his feet after such a difficult element as a quadruple axel… He fell, but got up, then calmly did a quadruple Lutz, a loop, a toe loop, and a little later a quadruple Lutz – oiler – triple Salchow then a triple Lutz – triple Axel. It’s just something incredible. But it seems to me that one day I will be able to do it too. I just need to keep working.
I’m not afraid to raise that bar. I’m willing to try to break it myself in the future. I want to reach the same level,” Dikiji said at the Championship.
On December 23, Vladislav Dikidzhi won a silver medal at the Russian Championship in Chelyabinsk. He lost to national champion Evgeniy Semenenko by 1.01 points.
