Athletistic/Figure skating. Acting President of the Russian Figure Skating Federation (FFKKR) Anton Sikharulidze announced his intention to toughen the federation’s position regarding the change in sports citizenship of Russian figure skaters.
“My position is that those who actually left Russia, live and train abroad should not be retained. The FFKKR did not provide them with support and the country did not invest money in them. “However, we have questions about those we funded who were considered promising athletes. I am categorically against the idea of a skater first negotiating a transfer and then hastily obtaining citizenship.” declared Sikharulidze, quoted by the RIA Novosti Sport agency.
“If at the beginning of the sanctions against our athletes we were rather faithful to such transitions, now our position will be tougher,” Sikharulidze added.
