Polyakova admitted she was happy with FINA’s decision not to remove her from her job on the Athletes’ Commission

European champion Maria Polyakova told she was delighted to hear of the International Swimming Federation (FINA) decision not to remove her from her work on the Athletes’ Commission.

Polyakova was elected to the FINA Diving Athletes’ Commission. On Monday, she won the gold of the Russian championship in ski jumping (1 m).

– You had a tense struggle with Kristina Ilinykh for leadership. Nervous?

“I didn’t watch the scoreboard, I just had to finish the program to the end,” Polyakova told .

– This projectile is the lowest, but there is a feeling that it is risky in its own way – for some reason it is scary to watch jumps from the “meter”.

– The risks are minimal, but a projectile is a projectile – if you just keep your distance, you’ll be fine.

– You jumped from the tower for a long time?

– I do not remember. Every once in a while I do basic jumps for general practice, but I don’t do anything difficult from there.

– FINA has signaled that they are not going to remove you from the Athletes’ Commission.

“It was good to be chosen. It’s the first. And it’s very good that FINA decided not to remove me from my duties.

– With whom will you jump “synchronously”?

– With Vitaly Koroleva.

– What are your impressions of the World Cup? Anyone remember that?

– There are new girls – Canadian Mia Valle, who took second place in the springboard. There is a change of generation, young athletes are mostly successful, but that does not mean that the level is much worse.

– Maria Polyakova, what kind of athletes does she belong to? Youth ?

– Yes (laughs).
