A meeting of the working group to verify the suitability of candidates for the post of UAF President is scheduled for December 27
A working group meeting was held at the Football House to prepare Extraordinary Congress of the Ukrainian Football Association (UAF).
Meetings of the registration commission are scheduled to be held at the House of Football on December 27 to establish the powers of delegates and the quorum of the extraordinary 26th UAF Congress and the working group to verify the suitability of candidates for the post of UAF President nominated for election at the above-mentioned congress, which will be held on January 25, 2024.
The results of the commission and working group meetings will be notified to FIFA and UEFA, which are constantly informed about the progress of preparations for the UAF Congress.
Let us remind you that earlier the UAF Executive Committee officially approved the holding of the Extraordinary Congress of the UAF on January 25, 2024. The meeting will take place in the Kiev House of Football, starting at 12:00. At the same time, the congress agenda was approved, one of the items of which is “On the election of the UAF President.”
On December 12, Andrei Shevchenko was officially nominated as a candidate for the post of UAF president. The ex-coach of the Ukrainian national team accepted the offer to run for a responsible post, taking time to prepare a program and select a team.
Shevchenko’s candidacy was supported by at least 19 permanent collective members of the organization out of 27 (and according to Vice-President Vadim Kostyuchenko – 23). The Ukrainian Premier League abstained from its vote, as it held its meeting before Shevchenko’s decision to participate in the elections. Shevchenko himself will be the only and uncontested candidate in the election of the head of the UAF.
According to the latest information, Shevchenko is going to arrive in Kyiv on January 10, 2024. Then, on the tenth of next month, specifics are expected about his future assistants as head of the governing body of Ukrainian football.
