Kostomarov performed as a guest at the “Red Machine” New Year party, which took place at the Zorkiy stadium in Krasnogorsk. He underwent several amputations in 2023 after being hospitalized in January. The former skater underwent prosthetic surgery, and in December he appeared on the ice on skates, participating in Ilya Averbukh’s show.
“I went out on the ice and remembered my numbers that I skated when I was in normal condition. On December 17, I performed with Oksana (Domnina), with Tanya (Navka). Yes, it was a simplified version, because not everything works yet. I think I will develop in this direction and, perhaps, soon achieve a full-fledged performance.
In fact, it’s an indescribable feeling. You know what and how to do, how to achieve this or that element, but so far I have not succeeded in everything. I’m going to work on it. The most important thing is patience and hard work, and never giving up.
