Athletistic / Others. Russian President Vladimir Putin signed the law on the organization of the “Games of the Future” the day before, on December 26. The competition will take place in Kazan from February 21 to March 3 next year.
According to RIA Novosti Sport, the “Games of the Future” program includes drone races, robot battles, e-sports competitions, cyberathletics and many other disciplines. In total, the event will offer competitions in 16 disciplines, each combining the notion of “phygital” (classic sports and e-sports).
The source notes that the law signed by the head of state stipulates that funds for the tournament will be allocated from the federal and regional budgets.
Note that the official symbol of the “Games of the Future” will be the firebird. It is noteworthy that it was developed by students from Tatarstan.
