Sinitsina missed her mother at the beginning of the transition period, said the figure skater’s coach Panova

Russian figure skating coach Ksenia Sinitsina Svetlana Panova said she was not against her players being accompanied by their parents during competitions.

The Russian championship this year was won by Adelia Petrosyan, who, based on the results of the competition, managed to overtake Sofya Muravyova and Kamila Valieva. Sinitsyna remained in fourth place.

“I am never against such things.” If a child feels comfortable competing with their parents and they can afford to travel to competitions, there is no doubt about it. It’s just that Ksenia’s mother works, so she got used to independence in this regard very early. On the one hand, this is not bad, but, on the other hand, modern figure skating is still a triangle: athlete – coach – parents. When Ksyusha’s transition period began, my mother’s participation in the training process, to be honest, was sometimes not enough for us. If at that time she had the opportunity to undergo training, I think the productivity of our work could have been higher,” Panova said, as quoted by RT.

Sinitsyna trains at the Snow Leopards school with Panova and Tatyana Moiseeva. This season, the 19-year-old athlete won the fifth stage of the Russian Cup Grand Prix in Samara.
