Athletistic/Figure skating. Olympic team tournament champion Kamila Valieva has expressed her position regarding the ongoing investigation into her doping case, currently pending before the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS).

Valieva is suspected of using the banned drug trimetazidine, which was found in the sample dated December 25, 2021. The results of this audit were not made public until February 2022, during the Olympic Games in Beijing. Currently, the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) is insisting on a four-year disqualification of the 17-year-old figure skater. The final decision in the Valieva case will be announced no later than February 12, 2024.

“At the beginning it was very difficult. Now I have the inner strength to deal with this event more calmly. How many times has it been postponed, I already want to know the final result. The worst thing in life is about living in a state of “uncertainty. When you don’t clearly know what awaits you, it’s really unpleasant,” Valieva shared in an interview with Womanhit.

  • Zhurankov: “Valieva is one of those skaters who goes through puberty with big changes in their physical form”
