Mikhail Karpol appointed head coach of volleyball club “Uralochka-NTMK” reports the press service of the Yekaterinburg team.
Karpol replaced 85-year-old Nikolai Karpol in this position.
Previously, Mikhail Karpol led the club’s youth team, was the head coach of the main team, and in the 2021/22 season he served as head coach of Uralochka. In 2022, the Yekaterinburg club won silver at the Russian Championship.
Mikhail Karpol is the grandson of Nikolai Karpol, who coached Uralochka for over 50 years. In 1993, Mikhail’s parents died in a car accident, and Nikolai Karpol and his wife adopted the boy.
“Uralochka” occupies 11th place in the Russian Championship standings, gaining 12 points in 12 matches.
