Choreographer Alexey Zheleznyakov in an interview with said that the coach Eteri Tutberidze is a strong psychologist.

The choreographer left Tutberidze’s team in November. Zheleznyakov collaborated with Tutberidze throughout his career in Russia.

— What is the phenomenon of the Tutberidze school?

— Eteri Georgievna is a strong psychologist, a competent leader in terms of management and personnel selection. In 15 years, I have seen a lot of people go through this school, but they didn’t get along or the coach excluded them. At one point a wonderful team gathered – Sergei Dudakov, Daniil Gleikhengauz – I, as a veteran, watched this from the side. The phenomenon of the school is teamwork, everyone is unique and the mechanism works like a Swiss watch. Without Tutberidze’s instinct and correct vision, nothing would have worked: she sees 15 steps ahead. And when everyone saw the results, talents began to flow in: Shcherbakova, Valieva, for example.

— During all this time, has your relationship remained purely functional, or could you celebrate something together, for example?

— There were never parties or celebrations together. There were meetings, like the rink anniversary, everyone talked, but never outdoor events. Some form of familiarity in serious matters is unacceptable. There’s no need for parties, everyone has their own life. We are like a family, but only in working moments,” Zheleznyakov told .
