Guardiola: I hope Haaland can return in January

The Norwegian is not yet able to train with the team

Attack Manchester City Erling Haaland has not yet recovered from a foot injury. City head coach Pep Guardiola hopes the player will be able to return in January.

“He’s not on the team. Erling is feeling better, but he hasn’t had a single training session with us. Unfortunately, December is so congested with a lot of matches. January is also very busy. Hopefully he can come back to us in January.”

Haaland last appeared in the match with Aston Villa (0:1) in early December. Since then, the forward has missed seven City matches in all tournaments due to injury.

Previously, the Norwegian was recognized as the best player of 2023 according to the International Federation of Football History and Statistics (IFFHS). Erling also became the best athlete of the year according to the BBC.

Manchester City is fourth in the Premier League with 37 points. Guardiola’s team will next host Sheffield United on December 30th.
