The day before, December 27, it became known that the Russian Interior Ministry had included Sergei and his wife Violetta on the wanted list.

“Sergei repeatedly came to the Russian Guard to resign. But his son was refused this. However, he had permission to leave the country from the Ministry of Sports. The corresponding lists were compiled by the coach -head of the Russian national team, Ilgar Mamedov. It was he who sent them, including to the Russian Guard, because there were other shooters. A similar list was in the Ministry of Defense. They there were signed.

Therefore, Serezha had official permission to leave until the end of 2023. That is why they did not stop him at the border. He was not worried at all, he was planning to leave, have an operation and, possibly, return to Russia,” Grishina was quoted as saying by RT.

Spouses Sergei and Violetta Bida, who moved to the United States, are wanted under the article “unauthorized abandonment of a unit or place of service.” They risk 5 to 10 years in prison.
