Figure skater Mishina: “My jumping technique is a hodgepodge”

2022 Olympic team tournament champion and Russian pairs champion with Alexander Gallyamov, figure skater Anastasia Mishina spoke about how her jumping technique has changed throughout her career.

Mishina began her career in singles skating, then in pairs skating. Together with Gallyamov, she became a bronze medalist at the 2022 Games, world and European champion.

— It turns out that the jumps were unstable?

— I didn’t do any jumps – only doubles. I didn’t even jump a double axel.

— How did you manage to find them in pairs skating?

— During the first year, or more, I practiced singles and pairs skating. I practiced vaulting with Elena Alexandrovna, then with Kirill Anatolyevich Davydenko, and my coaches and pair partners also helped me. My jumping technique is a hodgepodge, there’s a little bit of everyone, so it’s probably a little different from the ideal technique,” Mishina was quoted as saying by “Championship”.
