Famous former basketball player and coach Victor Kobzisty died during a massive Russian rocket attack on Ukraine on December 29 in Lvov. This was announced by the head of the sports department of the Lviv City Council Anton Nikulin.
Kobzisty played for Azovmash, Budivelnik, Dnepr and a number of other clubs. Together with the Ukrainian national team, the forward played at the European Championships in 2001 and 2005. Victor received the title of international master of sports.
After completing his playing career, Kobzisty was the president of BC Kremin, and also worked as the director of a children’s and youth sports school. The coach was involved not only in the development of basketball, but also in other sports.
According to official data, Russia fired 158 missiles and drones into Ukraine over the past night and Friday morning. The Ukrainian Air Force destroyed 114 targets. According to the National Police at 13:00, 18 residents of Ukraine were killed and another 132 people were injured.
