Figure skater Yevgeny Semenenko said it was not easy for him to prepare for the winner of the 2024 Russian Championship.
The Russian Figure Skating Championships took place in Chelyabinsk from December 21 to 23. Semenenko became the best, just like the previous year. In total, the 20-year-old scored 294.75 points for the short and free programs. The silver medal was won by Vladislav Dikidzhi (293.74), the leading trio was closed by Petr Gumennik (292.42).
“The preparations did not go as planned; there were difficulties. Regarding the illness: we managed to avoid it, but there were other problems. Fun fact: last year at the Russian Championships in Krasnoyarsk, I got sick the day after the free skate. If this had happened a day earlier, maybe nothing would have happened. I am grateful to fate that this happened,” Semenenko was quoted as saying by Gazeta.Ru.
