The Russian Championship took place in Chelyabinsk from December 21 to 23. In total, the 20-year-old scored 294.75 points for the short and free programs. The silver medal was won by Vladislav Dikidzhi (293.74), the leading trio was closed by Petr Gumennik (292.42).

At the 2016 Russian Championships, when I was one of the youngest participants in the tournament, I performed one of the worst short programs of my entire career. But the next day was one of my favorite free skates: I managed to land a triple Axel.
