Figure skater Yevgeny Semenenko spoke about his attitude towards Chelyabinsk, where he won the second gold medal of the Russian Championship in his career.
The Russian Championship took place in Chelyabinsk from December 21 to 23. In total, the 20-year-old scored 294.75 points for the short and free programs. The silver medal was won by Vladislav Dikidzhi (293.74), the leading trio was closed by Petr Gumennik (292.42).
— In general, Chelyabinsk is an interesting city for me. At the 2016 Russian Championships, when I was one of the youngest participants in the tournament, I performed one of the worst short programs of my entire career. But the next day was one of my favorite free skates: I managed to land a triple Axel.
At the end of 2020 in Chelyabinsk I made my debut at the Russian adult championship, where I played unsuccessfully. But then there were the open skates, where I skated the short and free skates cleanly. I am happy that the good trend continues,” Semenenko told Gazeta.Ru.
