Athletistic / Figure skating. The winner of the Russian Ice Dancing Grand Prix Final, Valery Angelopol, is set to create a new duet. Soon he may be paired with Alexandra Shinkarenko.
According to RIA Novosti Sport, Angelopol and Shinkarenko now show mutual interest in cooperation. However, at the moment no final decision has been made on whether the pairing will take place, since Angelopol’s personal trainer Natalya Linichuk wants to show interest in skaters. The joint hearings of Valéry and Alexandre have not yet taken place.
Angelopol, 20, trains with Linichuk at Plushenko’s Angels Academy. His previous partners were Vasilisa Kaganovskaya and Arina Ushakova, whose couple split this week. Shinkarenko, 16, studies with Elena Maslennikova and Ilya Averbukh. She now plays in tandem with Vladislav Mikhailov.
