The Norwegian successfully defended both of his rapid chess titles
Norwegian grandmaster Magnus Carlsen won the 2023 World Blitz Championship. The Norwegian won his seventh title in this discipline.
Carlsen scored 16 points in 21 games. The Norwegian lost only one game during the tournament, scoring 16 points out of 21.
The best among Ukrainians were Ruslan Ponomarev (50th place) and Yuriy Kuzubov (54th). Both grandmasters scored 12 points.
Carlsen defended his blitz title. Earlier, the Norwegian also successfully defended his championship title in rapid.
Let us remind you that the 33-year-old Norwegian celebrated his victory at the World Chess Cup in Baku, Azerbaijan, in August. On his way to the final, Magnus managed to defeat Ukrainian Vasily Ivanchuk in the fifth round of the tournament.
