Turchenko recognized as the best handball player in Ukraine in 2023

In 2023, Turchenko became the main sniper of the Ukrainian national team – 37 goals in 7 matches

French player Limoges and the national team Ukraine Igor Turchenko recognized the best handball player in Ukraine in 2023.

The 23-year-old left welterweight scored 102 points in the voting. Turchenko was ahead of Dynamo Bucharest scorer Andrey Akimenko and Motor captain Zakhar Denisov.

In 2023, Turchenko became the main sniper of the Ukrainian national team – 37 goals in 7 matches. The welterweight took part in all the blue-yellow games this year and was effective in each of these matches.

Playing for Motor, Turchenko won the Ukrainian Championship and the Ukrainian Cup in the 2022/2023 season, and in the EHF European League he became the fourth best sniper of the tournament – 97 goals in 12 matches. In the second German Bundesliga 2022/23, where Motor also played, Turchenko became the second best sniper of the championship – 241 goals in 36 matches.

After moving to Limoges, Turchenko is the team’s best sniper in the French championship, and ranks 9th in the list of top scorers in the entire league. Turchenko has 79 goals in 15 matches. Limoges is in fifth place in the league table.
