Former race car driver crashes, Melissa Dennis dies in hospital

Former Australian cycling world champion Roan Dennis was arrested and charged with the manslaughter of his wife.

It is reported that the ex-racer hit his wife with a pickup truck near their home in the suburbs of Adelaide, Australia. Melissa Dennis taken to the hospital, where she died from her injuries.

Roan was charged with involuntary manslaughter, careless driving and endangering life. The racer has already been released from prison on bail. The court hearing is scheduled for March 13.

Dennis is a two-time world champion in the individual time trial. During his career, the athlete won 33 victories, including stage victories in all three grand tours. The 33-year-old Australian retired from professional performances at the end of this season.

Melissa Dennis (Hoskins) is a former Australian racing driver. The athlete won four victories in her career and retired from professional competition in 2015. The family raised two children.
