Athletistic/Others. Russian athletes will not fully participate in international competitions in 2024, noted host and commentator Dmitry Guberniev in an interview with Match TV.

In the spring, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) recommended that international federations allow Russian and Belarusian athletes to participate in tournaments as neutral participants, subject to certain restrictions. However, on December 8, the IOC announced that successfully qualified Russian and Belarusian athletes would also be admitted to the 2024 Summer Olympics with individual neutral status. In Paris, Russian athletes will perform without a flag, anthem and other national symbols.

“The lifting of international suspensions of Russian athletes will not take place in 2024. However, there are certain hopes, and I look at 2024 with more optimism than 2023,” Guberniev said in an interview with Match TV.

The Paris Summer Olympics will take place from July 26 to August 11, 2024.
