The Swede bets on Tyson, but he respects Alexander very much and considers him a very worthy opponent
Swedish heavyweight Otto Wallin once again shared his forecast for the upcoming fight for the title of absolute heavyweight champion between the Ukrainian Alexander Usik (holder of WBO/WBA/IBF/IBO belts) and British Tyson Fury (WBC champion).
Otto is still betting on Fury, but admits that Usyk can win.
“I have a lot of respect for Usyk, especially now after he fought with Joshua. He did a very good job with Anthony. I think it will be a very good fight. “I always said that I thought Tyson would win.”
“I’ll stick to that, but it’s heavyweight, you never know. Usyk is an extremely good fighter, Tyson is a good fighter. Let’s see what happens. I mean, I’m still betting on Fury, but I think it will be a very good fight. If Usyk beats Fury, he will have an amazing career.”
Earlier, Wallin repeatedly insisted in his forecasts on the advantage of the “Gypsy King” over the Ukrainian. In particular, he argued that “body punches are Usik’s weakness, and Fury knows it.” At the same time, given Tyson’s unconvincing performance against ex-UFC champion Francis Ngannou, the Swede believes that Alexander will give the Briton “a really good fight.”
Wallin himself, we recall, lost without a chance to Anthony Joshua (who, in turn, had previously defeated Usik twice) at the “Day of Reckoning” boxing evening in Saudi Arabia. The Swede refused to continue the fight after the 5th round.
The Usik-Fury fight for the title of absolute heavyweight champion will officially take place on February 17 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Initially, the fight was planned to be organized on December 23 in Riyadh. However, it later became clear that the “Gypsy King” would not have time to prepare for this time after the fight with Francis Ngannou at the end of October.
Fury defeated Ngannou via split decision. It was reported that the Briton received two cuts in a fight with the former UFC champion.
Usik fought his last fight on August 27 in Wroclaw, Poland. The Ukrainian knocked out Daniel Dubois in the ninth round and defended his championship titles.
