Athletistic / Figure skating. Russian Olympic figure skating champion Anna Shcherbakova addressed her compatriots on New Year’s Eve. The 19-year-old athlete congratulated Russians on the arrival of 2024.
“I congratulate you all on the coming New Year! I wish you, of course, first of all health, as well as more sports in your life. May the New Year bring you many new achievements, success both in life daily than in sport,” Shcherbakova quotes the press service of the Russian Olympic Committee (ROC).
Anna Shcherbakova won gold in the individual competitions at the 2022 Olympic Games in Beijing (China). Additionally, the 19-year-old Russian is the 2021 world champion.
Since February 2022, Russian figure skaters have stopped being invited to international competitions due to the decision of the International Skating Union (ISU) to suspend Russia from international competitions. As a result, Anna only participated in the Russian Challenge competition in the 2022/2023 season, where she took third place.
