AJ’s fight with Wilder fell through
Eddie Hearnpromoter of former world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshuareported that the Briton plans to return to the ring in March in Saudi Arabia.
Hearn says Joshua is a mandatory challenger for the IBF heavyweight title among potential opponents. Filip HrgovicWBO interim belt holder Zhang Zhilei and former UFC champion Francis Ngannou.
It was previously assumed that Joshua would fight Deontay Wilder in March. However, the fight fell through due to the American’s defeat by Joseph Parker.
At the end of December, Joshua confidently defeated Otto Wallin, who refused to continue the fight after the 5th round, as part of the “Day of Reckoning”. Anthony stated that he was ready to fight the next fight with anyone.
Hrgovic defeated Mark De Mori from Australia as part of the “Day of Reckoning”. Zhilei defeated Joe Joyce for the second time in September. Ngannou lost to Tyson Fury via split decision in October.
