New details have emerged about the death of world cycling champion Hoskins

New circumstances have emerged surrounding the death of Australian cycling world champion Melissa Hoskins, whose death is believed to be caused by her husband, Olympic medalist Rohan Dennis.

Dennis had previously been arrested for causing death by dangerous driving and intentionally endangering life. The events occurred on Saturday evening. Hoskins, 32, was taken to the hospital with serious injuries and died a short time later.

As the Mirror now reports, citing the Australian newspaper Advertiser, police believe Hoskins herself jumped on the hood of the car and tried to grab the door handle, but Dennis didn’t stop moving until until she falls.

The athlete has been released on bail and will appear in court on March 13. If convicted, he could be sentenced to 15 years in prison.

Hoskins was world track champion in the team pursuit. She married Dennis in February 2018 and the couple had two children together.
