Exceptions may be cycling, tennis and judo
Olympic Games 2024which will be held in Paris, can take place without the participation of teams from Russia and Belarus.
Representative of the Olympic Committee Craig Reid said that the absence of the national teams will be due to the non-admission of athletes from Russia and Belarus to the qualifying competitions, in which representatives of both countries also cannot take part.
The ban will not apply to cycling, tennis and judo. In these sports, despite the recommendations of the International Olympic Committee, Russian and Belarusian athletes can participate individually.
The Russian army unleashed a full-scale war against Ukraine on February 24, a few days after the end of the winter Olympics in Beijing. In March, Russian and Belarusian athletes were suspended from participation in the Winter Paralympic Games.
Also, the IOC did not allow Russia and Belarus to participate in the tender for the acquisition of television rights to broadcast the Olympic Games in 2026 and 2028.
