Kalinic, after a six-month break in his career, again became Hajduk’s player

The ex-Dnepr forward signed a contract with his native club until the end of the season

Attack Nikola Kalinic returned to Hajduk after being without a team for six months. The experienced footballer signed a contract with the Split club until the end of the 2023/24 season and has already started training with the main squad.

The day after tomorrow, January 5, the ex-Dnepr forward will turn 36 years old. Let us remember that he returned to Hajduk, where he began his professional career, in February 2022, but left the team the following summer, deciding to take a break from his career.

It is reported that for the sake of the return of the legend, North Macedonian forward Aleksandar Trajkovski even agreed to give him his T-shirt with No. 9, and take No. 27 himself.

In addition to Hajduk, Kalinic played for Istra, Sibenik, Blackburn, Dnipro, Fiorentina, Milan, Atletico, Roma and Verona throughout his career. He also has 42 matches and 15 goals for the Croatian national team.

Hajduk left for the winter break as the leader of the Croatian championship, six points ahead of Rijeka (match in reserve) and seven points ahead of Dinamo Zagreb (two games less).
