Designer Kuklycheva: “Kostornaya owes me 240,000 rubles for costumes, but she says she owes me nothing”

Figure skating costume designer Alena Kuklycheva told that Alena Kostornaya she owes him 240,000 rubles for sewing costumes, but the figure skater told him she owes nothing.

Kuklycheva wrote on social networks that she was terminating cooperation with Kostornaya and demanded that the skater return all the costumes that she had not paid for.

— Alena Kostornaya did not pay for a number of costumes for the short, free programs in which she already stars. At the Russian Championships, she wore bodysuits, but in the short program she had already changed them: they were from another designer. In other words, she basically no longer needs these costumes. Four other designers who worked on the costumes can attest to this.

Alena also performed in my costumes during the show. There was an agreement that she would return them. She returned some, but not yet. This is an other story. And for competitions, we made costumes for her for money, and she also participated in them.

—What is Kostornaïa’s debt to you?

– 240 thousand (rubles). Everything was formalized, an invoice was issued and the relevant documents were available.

“And she’s not going to repay that debt?”

— The last message from her: “I owe you nothing.” Maybe she thinks the federation should pay for her, I don’t know. Kostornaya also has to give me the black swan costume, but she told me she needs it by January 10th. “As long as I need it, I won’t give it away,” she said. After all that, I told her I was stopping cooperating with her and had to return the costumes. A new swan has already been sewn for her and she no longer needs my costume.

I would like to resolve this issue non-publicly, but it didn’t work out otherwise, since Alena replied that she didn’t owe me anything. And not only me, but also other designers worked on these costumes. There is no point in hyping things up as if I have nothing to do,” Kuklycheva told .

Early last year, Kostornaya turned to pair skating and performs with Georgy Kunitsa.

Kostornaya is the 2020 European women’s single skating champion.
