Athletistic / Chess. Polish grandmaster Jan-Krzysztof Duda will not be punished for refusing to shake hands with Russian Denis Khismatullin before a World Championship match in Samarkand (Uzbekistan). This was reported by the press service of the International Chess Federation (FIDE).

As the organization explains, Duda could have been punished if Khismatullin had demanded it. But the Russian grandmaster did not file a complaint.

The FSR advocated the introduction of fines for refusing to shake hands after the act of the Polish grandmaster

“This can only happen if the opponent, who was refused to shake hands, demands it from the ethics commission. In the case of Duda-Khismatullin, no such statement was received “, said the FIDE representative, quoted by RBC-Sport.
