16-year-old athlete stopped one step away from the world crown
English dartsman Luke Humphreys won the 2024 World Darts Championship.
In the final, Humphreys defeated the sensation of the tournament, 16-year-old Luke Littler. The young dartsman led the match with a score of 4:2 in sets, had the opportunity to win the fifth game, but missed at the decisive moment. Humphreys won the set, fought back and took the match to a 7-4 victory.
Despite the loss, Littler became the hero of the tournament. Luke started the competition from the early round, became a crowd favorite and had a lot of support in the final.
Humphries became the world darts champion for the first time. Also, the 28-year-old athlete became number one in the world rankings for the first time.
