The first racket of Ukraine beat Emma Raducana in three sets
The first racket of Ukraine Elina Svitolina made it to the quarterfinals of the tournament WTA 250 in New Zealand Auckland.
The Ukrainian met with the winner of the OS Open 2021, Briton Emma Raducanu. The tense duel, in which the advantage changed hands, lasted almost three hours.
Raducanu started the match confidently and led from the start 5:1. Elina returned to the game, won back the gap, but ultimately lost in the tiebreaker.
In the second game, the tennis players first took away someone else’s serves. As a result, the fate of the set was again decided in a tiebreaker. This time Elina managed to win, giving her opponent three draws.
The decisive set was already dictated by the Ukrainian. Svitolina took two of her opponent’s serves and defeated Emma (6:1).
Let us remind you that in the first round Elina beat former world number one Caroline Wozniacki from Denmark. In the quarterfinals, the Ukrainian will meet with Marie Bouzkova from the Czech Republic.
