Athletistic/ Others. The twelfth world chess champion Anatoly Karpov spoke about Jan-Krzysztof Duda’s refusal to shake the hand of Russian grandmaster Denis Khismatullin.

“How to perceive this is Khismatullin’s personal matter. But the very fact of refusing a handshake is a violation, a violation of chess traditions. The judge of the competition should inform about this incident – in this or that game , there was a violation of the rules committed by the Polish chess player Duda, and then FIDE should accept the decision,” Karpov told Match TV.

Previously, Khismatullin said he would not file a complaint with FIDE regarding Duda’s violation of the rules.
