Don Charles advises the Ukrainian to work more on the body in a fight with the Briton
Don CharlesBritish heavyweight trainer Daniel Duboisbelieves that the WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury is a clear favorite in the fight for the undisputed title with the holder of the WBA/WBO/IBF/IBO heavyweight belts Alexander Usik.
“Fury has stopped talking now, I think he has stopped talking and gone to train, he takes it seriously. I don’t even think it will be a difficult fight for Tyson. He’s too big for Usik, he’ll tear him to pieces, hit him, tie him up, push him away.”
“I look at this fight from different angles and come to one conclusion. Yes, Usik is exceptional, a brilliant technician and tactician. Usyk has fantastic rhythm that can offset Fury’s strength. He needs to make a lot of feints, shoot to the body, leave his head alone. Throw all your combinations at the waist, don’t go up, leave Fury’s head alone, that’s what I would advise.”
Don Charles previously said that it would be hard for Usyk to brush off Fury. The coach expects the Ukrainian to have problems in close combat.
The Usik-Fury fight for the title of absolute heavyweight champion will officially take place on February 17 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Initially, the fight was planned to be organized on December 23 in Riyadh. However, it later became clear that Tyson would not have time to prepare for this time after the fight with Francis Ngannou at the end of October.
Fury defeated Ngannou via split decision. It was reported that the Briton received two cuts in a fight with the former UFC champion.
Usik fought his last fight on August 27 in Wroclaw, Poland. The Ukrainian knocked out Daniel Dubois in the 9th round and defended his championship titles.
