Swansea Kucharevich has appointed a new head coach – Williams from Notts County

The 43-year-old has never previously coached at a level higher than English League 1

Swansea decided on a new head coach. He became Luke Williamspromoted from a fourth division club Notts County.

Let us remember that in early December it became known about the dismissal of the previous Swans coach Michael Duff. Under him, the team could not win in five rounds and took 18th place in the English Championship. Under interim coach Alan Sheehan, the team took 11 points from seven matches and climbed to 16th place.

Luke Williams is 43 years old. He has previously worked on the Swansea coaching staff as an assistant to Russell Martin in the 2021/22 season. Williams’ independent coaching work is limited to Swindon (League 1) and Notts County, which he took over in 2022 and promoted from the Conference to League 2 last summer.

Ukrainian striker Nikolai Kukharevich plays for Swansea. This season, the forward has scored one goal in 11 matches in all competitions. At the same time, Nikolai never appeared in the starting lineup and spent only 144 minutes on the field in total. Since the end of October, the Ukrainian has only been accepted into the application once.

In the next Championship match, Kukharevic’s team will play against Birmingham on January 13. And tomorrow, January 6, Williams will make his debut for his new club in a home match against Morecambe in the FA Cup.
