Svitolina made it to the finals of the tournament in Auckland

The first racket of Ukraine Elina Svitolina made it to the finals of the tournament WTA 250 in New Zealand Auckland.

The Ukrainian won a strong-willed victory over Siu Wang from China in the semifinals. The match lasted more than two hours, during the game Elina had to take a medical time-out.

The Chinese won the first set. The second game was an even fight, with Elina converting her only break point on a set point. In the decisive set, Svitolina took two of her opponent’s serves, losing one of her own, and won the match.

In the final of the tournament in Auckland, Elina will meet the first seeded Coco Gauff. The American has reached the decisive stage without losing a single set so far.

In the first round, Elina beat former world number one Caroline Wozniacki from Denmark. Next, the Ukrainian snatched victory from the British Emma Raducanu. In the quarterfinals, Svitolina confidently defeated Maria Bouzkova from the Czech Republic.
