Honored Coach of the USSR Tatyana Tarasova told that his colleague Oleg Epshtein loved figure skating and served it honestly.
Epstein died on December 30 at the age of 67. The specialist has recently been battling cancer.
– I’m sorry, I’m really sorry. We met him a lot during the Soviet era and we knew each other well. He was very fond of figure skating and served it honestly,” Tarasova told .
Epstein has worked with Russian figure skaters such as Ilya Averbukh, Irina Lobacheva, Victoria Sinitsina, Nikita Katsalapov and Roman Kostomarov. He also coached Canadians Tessa Virtue and Scott Moir, as well as Americans Maya and Alex Shibutani.
