“If we return now, Russians will occupy leading positions in many sports” – Tarasova

Honored coach of the USSR in figure skating Tatyana Tarasova assessed the level of Russian athletes in conditions of exclusion from international competitions.

“I don’t think the level of our athletes has dropped. There is no regression in Russian sport, we are competitive. If we return now, athletes from many sports will occupy leading positions,” quotes Tarasova, RB Sport.

In March 2023, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) announced new recommendations for the admission of Russians and Belarusians. They include individual admission, neutral status, banning participation in team sports, banning athletes associated with security forces or who have expressed support for the SVO from participating. The same requirements now apply to the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.
