Ukrainian tennis player – about goals for 2024
Ukrainian tennis player Marta Kostyuk told what she expects from the 2024 season. The 21-year-old athlete plans to enter the top 10 of the world rankings.
“Now I’m in a completely different period in my life. I really feel different off the court than on the court. I don’t know how this year will turn out for me, but I hope it will be very good. I’ve been on tour for many years now. This is really a lot, and I hope that I can finally feel like I’m different, and not just a young, budding star.”
“I’m really interested in how I’ll feel when I start winning big titles because it’s pressure that I haven’t felt before and everyone deals with it differently. Now I don’t feel much pressure anymore, because for me, to be honest, there is no difference in ranking, 40th, 60th or 80th in the world… I think the real difference begins when you are in the top 10. It is at this level that I want to test myself, how stable I can be, how I can stay in this place and not become a “one-time wonder.” I’m looking forward to that kind of pressure and experience.”
21-year-old Kostyuk opened the 2024 season with a tournament in Brisbane. Marta reached the second round, where she lost to Daria Kasatkina.
On the night of January 7-8, Kostyuk will play with Angelina Kalinina at the start of the competition in Adelaide. Estimated start: 2:30 Kyiv time.
