“Until we are liberated, the goal is to break all Russian records” – track and field athlete Savlukov

Athlete Savely Savlukov admitted on that he wants to break all the country’s records at his distances, while Russian athletes are not allowed to participate in international competitions.

Savlukov won the “Christmas Starts” tournament in Yekaterinburg with a result of 1 minute 15.09 seconds and set a European record in the 600 meter indoor race, beating the feat of German Nico Motchebon (1 minute 15.12 seconds), which he established in February 1999.

— I would like to break the Russian record for the 400 meters here in winter. Also on 500 and 600 meters you can beat all records. Well, this summer we will also reach the Russian record. As long as they don’t let us out, the goal is to break all the records in Russia,” Savlukov said on the air of the show “Everyone for the match!”.

In early December, World Athletics President Sebastian Coe said Russian athletes would not participate in athletics competitions at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris.
