Shakhtar’s rival in the Europa League playoffs has signed a player loan with the option to buy
Marseilles announced the signing of Besiktas midfielder Zhana Onana. The 24-year-old Cameroonian arrived on loan, with the French club having the option to buy out his contract at the end of the season.
Onana has experience playing in Ligue 1. Previously, the Cameroonian played for Lille, Bordeaux, Lens. In the summer of 2023, the defensive midfielder moved to Besiktas, for which he played 10 matches, scoring one assist.
Let us remind you that Marseille is Shakhtar’s opponent in the Europa League playoffs. The first, “home” match for the Miners, the 1/16 finals, will take place on February 15, the return match will take place on February 22.
Marseille is sixth in Ligue 1. In their next match, Gennaro Gattuso’s team will host Strasbourg on January 12.
