Figure skater Oushakova joked about finding a partner: “You can’t take old people back, you can’t look at young people without tears”

Russian figure skater Arina Ushakova told that after the dancing couple broke up with Valéry Angépol continues to look for a new partner, but there is still no option suitable for his skating level.

At the end of December, Oushakova announced that her dance couple with Angelopol, formed a month earlier, no longer existed. Ushakova, 21, also told that she is staying at Plushenko’s Academy of Angels.

— How is the search for a new partner going?

— It’s difficult to find a candidate for my level of skating, I want the person to know how to skate and, above all, to want and want to do it. I don’t have time to intimidate anyone. We are currently exploring all possible options. Sometimes we think: this is what it looks like, but it turns out that the person does not understand at all what is happening on the ice…

We can’t make the old people go backwards, we can’t look at the young people without tears (laughs). We search, we search, we do not despair. In the meantime, we are of course improving.

— Which of the “old” ones were taken into account? Who do you already have your eye on?

– I’ll tell you everything. Whoever they put it on knows (laughs),” Ushakova told .

Ushakova, together with Maxim Nekrasov, became the winner of the Youth Grand Prix and Russian Cup stages and won the Russian Championship in 2021. She also won bronze at the Junior World Championships, silver to the Junior Grand Prix Final and won the Grand Prix stages.
