A former student of Tutberidze spoke about the difference between life in Italy and Russia

Figure skater Vladimir Samoilov, playing for Poland, in a conversation with he shared his opinion on the differences between life in Italy and Russia.

In 2021, Moscow native Samoilov decided to play for the Polish national team. The 24-year-old athlete is training in Italy.

— How are people different in Italy and Russia?

— In Italy, no one is in a hurry, everything is calm, relaxed. They have a different mentality. Very few people work. In Moscow, the lunch break lasts 20-30 minutes, in Enna – two hours. All the stores were open until 7:00 p.m., which is hard to get used to. If you need to write documents, the processes will take a lot of time. There is always some kind of buzz in Moscow, everyone is in a hurry to get somewhere, I am used to the movement.

— Are you uncomfortable with a measured schedule?

– Well, I’m used to something else. But there is no special time or financial opportunity for active leisure. However, you need to be distracted, otherwise you will go crazy,” Samoilov told .

On several occasions while playing for Russia, Samoilov trained with Inna Goncharenko, Eteri Tutberidze and Evgeni Plushenko. The skater is the winner and prize-winner of the stages of the Russian Cup and the winner of silver on the Italian stage of the junior Grand Prix series.
