World Aquatics officially recognized Kolesnikov’s record, the FSM had no difficulty with the ratification

The International Swimming Federation (World Aquatics) officially recognized the world record Kliment Kolesnikov at a distance of 50 m back, which he established in July 2023.

Kolesnikov broke the world record in the 50 meters at the Russian Cup final in Kazan on July 27, 2023. In the swimming semi-final, he clocked 23.55 seconds and surpassed the feat of the American Hunter Armstrong (23.71). The Russian’s result is now official. Previously, World Aquatics had already ratified Kolesnikov’s short course world record against the backdrop of the suspension of Russian athletes (22.11).

Kolesnikov is 23 years old, the swimmer is a silver and bronze medalist at the Tokyo Olympics.
