Athletistic / Swimming. World Athletics has ratified the world record set by Russian swimmer Kliment Kolesnikov. Earlier, at the Russian Cup final in Kazan, Kolesnikov covered the 50m backstroke in 23.55 seconds.

Thus, the Russian swimmer surpassed the feat of the American Hunter Armstrong. He covered this distance in 23.71 seconds.

Kolesnikov is a double medalist at the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo (Japan). There he won silver and bronze medals.
